Why uploads get rejected
Websites and social apps only accept certain formats, file sizes and dimensions. A video in MKV or WEBM, a HEIC photo or a file that is too large is often refused. Converting to the format the platform expects — usually MP4 for video, JPG or PNG for images and MP3 for audio — solves most upload errors.
Safe defaults for most platforms
Video: MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, 1080p or 720p. Images: JPG for photos, PNG for graphics with text or transparency. Audio: MP3 at 192 kbps or higher. Check the platform’s current size limit and compress the file if it is still too big.
